Scar Therapy
Scar tissue work is a specialised, gentle approach designed to support people with restrictive or ropey scar tissue - it can work well in conjunction with post-operative physiotehrapy. Using soft, precise techniques taught in the Restore Scar program, this therapy helps restore mobility, ease tightness, and improve the feel and function of scarred tissue after surgery, radiation, ports, or drains.
The work focuses on improving circulation, reducing sensitivity, softening adhesions, and encouraging more comfortable movement. Sessions are always guided by your treatment history, stage of healing, and any medical considerations, ensuring your body is supported safely and respectfully.
Scar therapy can be especially helpful for:
Post-surgical scars (mastectomy, lumpectomy, abdominal, lymph node removal)
Radiation-affected tissue
Cording and restricted range of motion
Discomfort or tightness around ports or drains
Long-standing scars that feel thick, stuck, or sensitive
This work is slow, mindful, and client-led, helping you reconnect with an area that may feel unfamiliar or tender, and supporting comfort and confidence as you heal.
