Lymphatic Drainage
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle, rhythmic technique that supports the body’s lymphatic system — the network responsible for moving fluid, reducing swelling, and clearing waste. Using light, precise strokes, MLD helps improve lymph flow, ease discomfort, enhance recovery after injury or surgery, and support overall immune health. It’s deeply calming, safe, and especially beneficial for people experiencing fluid retention and pre- or post-operative swelling.
At BodyCentral, we use manual techniques as well as the Flowpresso Sequential Compression Pump for full body compression therapy.
FLOWpresso®
FLOWpresso® is a non-invasive, natural 3-in-1 sensory therapy designed to support deep relaxation, recovery, and whole-body balance.
By calming the nervous system and encouraging restorative sleep, FLOWpresso® helps reduce stress, fatigue, and overwhelm, helps faster healing, recovery in sport, weight loss, stress response and better mobility by allowing the body to rest, repair, and reset. It is clinically shown to improve sleep quality and support physical and mental wellbeing.
How FLOWpresso® Works
Cyclic Pneumatic Compression
Gentle, rhythmic compression encourages circulation and lymphatic flow, supporting the body’s natural detoxification processes.
Deep Pressure Therapy
Even, sustained pressure creates a deeply calming effect on the nervous system, similar to a grounding embrace.
Far Infrared Heat
Soft, penetrating warmth promotes lymphatic flow, relaxation, sleep, and tissue recovery, helping restore balance and ease.
We do not recommend Flowpresso® for people with:
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or suspected DVT Active infection (local or systemic) | Congestive heart failure (unmanaged) | Severe or uncontrolled hypertension | Circulatory or vascular disorders such as severe peripheral artery disease | Fever or acute inflammatory conditions | Recent major surgery (if not cleared by a surgeon) | Active cancer unless cleared by an oncology team | Pregnancy (as a precaution)
How many sessions do I need?
Flowpresso supports your body’s natural ability to return to homeostasis — that internal sweet spot where your systems are balanced, regulated, and functioning well. Modern life has a habit of nudging us out of that state. Stress ramps up the nervous system, lymph flow can become sluggish, and the body starts holding onto fluid, tension, and fatigue.
Flowpresso works across these systems at once — using gentle compression and deep relaxation to support lymphatic movement, calm the nervous system, and create the conditions your body needs to rebalance. While one session can feel great, a short series allows your body to learn and hold these changes.
Session 1 – The Reset
This is your body’s first shift toward homeostasis. The nervous system begins to down-regulate, moving out of “fight or flight” and into a more restorative state. Lymphatic flow is stimulated, helping reduce fluid retention and creating a sense of lightness and calm.
Session 2 – The Release
With the nervous system more settled, the body becomes more responsive. Lymphatic circulation improves further, supporting detoxification and reducing stagnation. Deeper layers of tension and fluid build-up can begin to move more freely.
Session 3 – The Rebalance
By now, your system is starting to stabilise. The nervous system holds a more regulated baseline, lymphatic flow is more efficient, and your body is better able to maintain homeostasis. Clients often notice improved energy, reduced puffiness, and a more grounded, steady feeling.
Why 3 sessions?
Because the body responds best to consistency. Repeating the treatment helps reinforce these shifts in the nervous system and lymphatic flow, allowing the effects to last longer and integrate more fully.
